If curled plain paper is loaded with the curl bowing up, the print head may
scratch the bottom edge of the paper.
Try to uncurl the paper. If necessary, turn the paper over, and load it in the
sheet feeder again.

If you execute a high-density print job on plain paper, the paper may
absorb too much ink and curl, and the print head may scratch the surface
of the curled page. Lower the Intensity setting.

Open the Printer Properties dialog box, and click the
Advanced
button in
the Main tab.

Click the Color tab.

Use the Intensity slide bar to change the print density setting.

If you print outside the recommended printing area, the print head may
scratch the bottom edge of the page.
To avoid problems, print only in the recommended printing area.
When you print on High Gloss Photo Film or Back Print Film, the bottom
margin must be larger than 1.1 in. (26 mm).
