12. TROUBLESHOOTING
OFF
WARNING: Turn off the power supply before performing any operations.
Do not allow the pump or motor to run when dry even for a short period
Strictly follow the user instructions and if necessary contact an authorised service centre
PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSES
POSSIBLE REMEDIES
1) The motor
does not start
a) The selector switch is at OFF
b) The motor is not being powered
c) The automatic control devices (the level
switch, etc.) do not give consent
a) Select ON
b) Check if some fuses are burnt or if the protective relay has
cut in.
Check terminal tightness.
Check if power is being supplied
c) Wait for the operation conditions to return or verify automatism
efficiency
2) Fuses burn
at starting
a) Unsuitable fuses
b) Locked rotor
c) Power cable or connection no longer
intact (in short-circuit)
a) Replace with fuses that are suitable for motor absorption.
b) Send the motor to the authorized service centre.
c) Replace the cable and repeat the connection.
3) The
overload rely
cuts in after a
few seconds
of operation.
a) The nominal voltage does not reach all
the motor phases.
b) The current consumption is unbalanced
with at least one phase having current
greater than the nominal one.
c) The current consumption is anomalous
d) Incorrect relay calibration
e) Locked rotor.
f) The power supply voltage does not
correspond to that of the motor.
a) Check the integrity of the electrical equipment.
Check the tightness of the terminal block.
Check the power supply voltage.
b) Check the imbalance at the phases as described in paragraph
5.5 ‘Connection and electrical information’. If necessary send
the motor to the authorized service centre
c) Verify the accuracy of the star or delta connections.
d) Check if the amperage setting is correct.
e) Send to the authorized service centre
f) Replace the motor, or change the power supply.
4) The
overload rely
cuts in after a
few minutes of
operation.
a) Incorrect relay setting
b) The power supply network voltage is
too low
c) The current consumption is unbalanced
at the phases with one phase higher
than the nominal power.
d)
The pump does not rotate freely
because of some friction points.
e)
The pump does not rotate freely
because of the high concentration of
sand.
f) The unit is covered with sand.
g) High power panel temperature
a) See 3.d.
b) Contact the supplier.
c) See 3.b.
d) Send the unit to the authorized service centre.
e) Reduce the flow with the shutter.
f) Lower the well or raise the unit in a suitable manner.
g) Make sure the relay is at room temperature. Protect the power
panel from sun and heat.
5) The
differential
relay cuts in
a) Insufficient electrical insulation.
a) Check the insulation resistance with a megohmmeter according to
the limits given in the section “Electrical connections”. If necessary
send the motor to the authorized service centre
