10. MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT PARTS
10.1 Battery Chamber Cover, Filter Maintenance
10.1.1 The cabinet battery chamber covers are equipped with filter screens. The filter screens should
be inspected and cleaned semi-annually (every six months) at intervals prescribed by local
practices.
To clean battery chamber cover filter:
Step 1:
Remove the #10 nuts securing the filter screen to the access panel. Remove the filter
screen. Set the nuts and access panel safely aside for later replacement.
Step 2:
If compressed air is available, use it to blow off dust and dirt from the filter screen.
Step 3:
Prepare a solution of warm water and mild detergent (DO NOT USE SOLVENTS!).
Gently scrub the filter screen with a soft brush. Set it safely aside to dry.
Step 4:
When the filter screen is dry, replace it onto the access panel using the #10 nuts
removed previously.
Step 5:
Replace the access panel back onto the base module.
10.2 Heat Exchanger Fan Replacement
DANGER
ELECTRICAL HAZARD MECHANICAL HAZARD. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
OR BEING CUT BY MOVING FAN BLADES. BEFORE REPLACING ANY FAN
UNIT, BE SURE THAT THE POWER IS SHUT OFF.
10.2.1 The heat exchangers are designed to run for years without any routine maintenance. Should a
fan unit fail, it can be replaced without removing the heat exchanger.
