2.5.2 Mounting options - The cabinet is designed to be pad mounted. A universal pad-mounting
template is offered as an option. Rubber pads will be provided to isolate the cabinet from the
concrete pad. The cabinet will be lifted into place on the pad using the lifting eyes provided on
the top of the cabinet.

Batteries are to be installed only after cabinet placement.
2.5.3 Equipment Rails - The equipment chamber is equipped with painted conductive steel rails that
can accommodate 19-in. (48.26 cm) rack-mount equipment. The equipment mounting rails
have tapped EIA spaced holes.
The rails are designed to accept standard 12-in. (30.48 cm) deep with 5-in. (12.7 cm) front
offset mounted equipment.
Each rail is bonded by contact through the cabinet chassis to the Master Ground Bar (MGB).
2.5.4 Environmental Control - The cabinet is equipped with a heat exchanger climate control system.
The cabinet contains two heat exchangers, each capable of removing up to 2,700 Watts of heat
at 19

C.

The heat exchanger fans are field replaceable.
2.5.5 Cable Entry - Cable entry is through four 4-in. (10.16 cm) inside diameter split-sleeve cable

conduit knockout located in the protection chamber, and one 10-position ground bar located in
the end chamber.
2.5.6 Battery Reserve - The MESA
®
6 NxT / Calix ODC-120 has battery modules designed to accept
up to (6) strings of front post batteries.
2.5.7 Battery Compartment - The MESA
®
6 NxT / Calix ODC-120 cabinet has a ventilated battery
compartment equipped with six battery modules, to accommodate (6) stings of 100 Amp hour
Northstar batteries.
An optional fused thermostatically controlled battery heater pad kit can be factory installed to
protect batteries in colder environments.
