Note: You may need to use shims on both the corners located to either side of
the adjustment bracket.
Step 10:
Turn the adjustment bolt another turn or two clockwise to raise the cabinet a little
more and create clearance for the shims.
Step 11:
Insert the stack of shims under the corner (or corners) of the cabinet base next to the
alignment bracket. See Fig. 24.)
Step 12:
Once the shims are in place, turn the adjustment bolt counter-clockwise to lower the
cabinet onto the shims.
Step 13:
Check that the cabinet is still level.
•
If the cabinet is not level, return to Step 6.
•
If the cabinet is level while resting on the shims, proceed to Step 14.
Step 14:
Remove the alignment bracket.
Step 15:
Open the cabinet doors. (See Section 3., "Opening And Closing The Cabinet
Doors," Page 5.)
Step 16:
Reinstall the anchor hardware removed in STEP4, and tighten all bolts securely.
Step 17:
Caulk and gaps between the bottom of the cabinet and the rubber pad gasket
according to local practices.
5. CABLE INSTALLATION
Note: Maximum outside plant cable outer diameter (O.D.) is 3-in. (7.62 cm).
ALERT
Be careful to maintain all cable manufacturer recommended minimum bend radius require-
ments.
Step 1:
If not already done, use a tamper resistant wrench to open the splice and power end
chamber doors. Remove the splice chamber base cover.
Step 2:
In the power end chamber, pull the ground wire(s) through the grommet, directly
below the ground bar, and attach the wire to the ground bar.
Step 3:
Remove each nozzle from its split cable sleeve by loosening the upper hose clamps
(Fig. 15). Slip the clamps down the nozzle and remove them. Set the nozzles and
hose clamps safely aside for later reattachment.
Step 4:
Separate the front half of the outer split cable sleeve by removing the two hex head
bolts holding it in position. Pull the base up and toward you to remove it (Fig. 13).
Step 5:
Separate the front half of the rear split cable sleeve plate by removing the two hex
head bolts securing the center base plate. Do not disturb the rear half of the rear
split cable sleeve as it has been installed and sealed at the factory.
Step 6:
If cables have not already been pulled through the conduits and into the cabinet, do
so at this time. Pull all cables at least 15 feet (4.6 m) beyond the end of the conduit.
