4.5 Preparing the Cabinet
4.5.1 If not already done, open the cabinet doors as described in Section 3., Opening And Closing The
4.5.2 Inspect the inside of the cabinet to make sure there is no damage to equipment. Check the
packing slip to make sure all components are received. If any components are damaged or not
received, contact your supervisor for further instructions.
4.5.3 A gasket is installed on the concrete pad to prevent corrosion between the concrete pad and the
cabinet mounting surfaces (Fig. 12).
— Clean all debris from the concrete pad.
— Remove the end chamber cover. Remove the rubber gasket. Place the gasket into
position on the foundation pad so that the gasket will lie underneath the bottom of the
cabinet when it is placed.
4.5.4 Close and latch the main chamber doors in preparation for cabinet placement.
4.5.5 Close and latch the AC power door. The splicing end chamber door must stay open and the wind
latch secured.
