Wheel Alignment
It is important to ensure the alignment is true so that the irrigation boom tracks properly.
When replacing steering components or changing lane spacing complete this process:
Ensure the boom is located on a flat surface before checking the wheel alignment.
Disconnect the center steering bar (
A
).
Disconnect/Slacken the tongue chain (
B
) and place on a stand about
20 inches (500mm) from the ground.
Ensure the tongues (
C
) are dimensions (
X
) are equal for each end.
Using a string and 1 inch (25mm) spacers (
D
). Attach the string to the frame. Install
a spacer at the widest points of all wheels as shown in image below.
Measure the gap of the trailing wheel. The dimension should be between
7/8 - 29/32 inch (22-23mm) given 3/32 - 1/8 inch (2-3mm) tow-in. Adjust the tie-rods
as required.
Re-connect the center steering arm, adjusting as required.
Ensure the water feed and tow bar are parallel.
Ensure that all fasteners are tightened.
