1.2.8 UPS Monitoring Capability
You can configure either of the MicroMMAC-T’s front-panel COM ports
to support connection to an American Power Conversion (APC)
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). See the MicroMMAC-T Local
Management Guide for instructions. This connection enables remote
management applications to monitor UPS operational statistics compiled
in the UPS MIB. Connection instructions are specified in the RJ45 Cable
Kit With UPS Adapter Instruction Sheet included with the
MicroMMAC-T Cable Kit.
1.2.9 Accessories
This section briefly describes accessories you can install in the
MicroMMAC-T to expand its capabilities.
MicroSNAC-T – Consolidated SNA Conversion/WAN Connectivity
The MicroSNAC-T SNA/WAN Network Access Controller installs in the
MicroMMAC-T front-panel port aperture. You can configure the
MicroSNAC-T to operate as either a SDLC-to-LLC2 or a LLC2-to-SDLC
data-link protocol conversion device, enabling you to integrate data from
Token Ring and SNA networks.
With the addition of custom software modules designed to expand its
functionality, the MicroSNAC-T can also be configured to operate as a
consolidated Frame Relay wide area link for both SNA and LAN data, to
provide BSC transport through a LAN, and to provide X.25/QLLC
conversion to LLC2. See
Section 3.2.5
for installation instructions and the
documentation included with the MicroSNAC-T for information on
configuration, operation, and management procedures and custom
software options.
CRBRIM-W/T – Routing/WAN Functionality
The CRBRIM-W/T is a combination bridge/router with two external
WAN ports and an internal LAN port. It installs in the MicroMMAC-T
rear-panel BRIM aperture. The CRBRIM-W/T can be configured to
support a variety of data-transmission, WAN, and routing protocols.
See
Section 3.2.6
for installation instructions and the documentation
included with the CRBRIM-W/T for information on configuration,
operation, and management procedures and custom software options.
