Figure 4-11 Connecting To The TPIM-F2/-F3
3.
Attach the other end of the fiber strand connected to the
MicroMMAC-T RX port to the TX port on the other hub. Attach the
other end of the strand connected to the MicroMMAC-T TX port to the
RX port on the other hub.
The LNK LED on the TPIM-F2/F3:
•
Lights green if a successful connection between the
MicroMMAC-T and another Token Ring hub has been
established.
•
Does not light green or blinks green if a connection has not been
established.
If the LNK LED on the TPIM-F2/F3 does not light green, perform the
following steps to resolve the problem:
1.
Ensure that both hubs are powered up and that the ring ports on both
hubs are enabled and set for the same ring speed.
2.
Verify that you are using the correct cable type.
3.
Verify that the fiber strands are properly “crossed-over” between the
MicroMMAC-T and the other hub and fully inserted into the ports.
If you cannot establish a link, contact Cabletron Systems Technical
Support for assistance.
