4.4.3 Installing A TPIM
To install a TPIM into a RI/RO receptacle:
1.
Remove the plastic cover from the receptacle.
Keep the cover handy for future reattachment.
2.
Slide the TPIM into the receptacle slot, as indicated in
Figure 4-7
, until
the connector pins in the slot are fully inserted into the connector on
the TPIM.
The LNK LED on the TPIM lights:
•
Red (for the TPIM-T1/T2/T4 only), indicating successful TPIM
insertion into an activated MicroMMAC-T – the MicroMMAC-T
detects that the TPIM is inserted.
•
Green if a media connection has been established and the port
detects phantom current (or optical signalling for the
TPIM-F2/F3).
3.
Fasten the mounting screw to secure the TPIM in place.
