2.2.3 Clearing NVRAM
NVRAM (Non-Volatile Random Access Memory) stores system
parameters specified in management applications, including the IP
address, community passwords, ring security list, beacon recovery
settings, and stack and port configuration settings. Use the NVRAM
switch, shown in
Figure 2-5
, in conjunction with the RESET switch to
clear NVRAM only when you want to revert to default system settings.

To clear NVRAM:
1.
Make sure the MicroMMAC-T is turned on.

CAUTION
Do not reposition the NVRAM switch
while the MicroMMAC-T is
activated unless you intend to clear NVRAM. You cannot
reverse or “undo ” the purge that will commence at the next
reset or power up once the NVRAM switch has been
repositioned.
It is recommended that you record your network’s configuration
settings so you can reinstate them after you clear NVRAM.
