Connect the disk power cable to the Group 8 drive power connector on the edge of the
backplane assembly.

Connect the drive I/O cable to the disk and route the other end under the IES/MUX board
assemblies to the backplane slot area.

NSTALLATION

The EMS processor interfaces with the IES circuitry via the COM2 port. (See processor board,

page

54

.) This requires a converter module to change the COM2 signal protocol to the IES signal

protocol. The IES converter mounts on the inside of the rear panel above backplane slot 15. The IES
converter module connects to the EMS processor board with a ribbon cable. (See following
discussion.)
