17.3.3
Length of the filtration cycle
The length of the filtration cycle depends on the theoretical time taken for all the water in the pool to pass
through the filter. For private pools, the max time allowed for all the water to be recycled is 8 hours.
We recommend the following as a function of water temperature:
•
Below 14°C : 5 to 6 hours per day.
•
From 15° to 23 °C : 6 to 8 hours per day.
•
Above 23 °C : 10 to 12 hours per day.
The higher the bather load and the pool water temperature, the longer the filtration cycle should be.
To optimise filtration efficiency, run the filter during the day (between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm) and, more
generally, while the pool is in use (one bather pollutes 3 m³ of water.
17.3.4
Cleaning the pre-filter and backwashing
PRE-FILTER
After a certain time, a drop in the flow rate at the return fittings will be noted. This is due to progressive
clogging of the filter or pump prefilter..=
If the pressure indicated on the pressure gauge falls below the nominal pressure indicated by the blue
needle, clean the pump pre-filter:
•
Stop the pump.
•
Turn the 6-way valve to CLOSED.
•
Close the suction and return valves.
•
Open the pump pre-filter.
•
Remove the basket.
•
Use a water jet to remove any impurities.
•
Put the pre-filter basket back.
•
Put the pre-filter lid back on making sure that the seal is correctly positioned and that there is enough
water to prime the pump.
•
Put the 6-way valve to FILTRATION.
•
Open the suction and return valves.
•
Switch the pump on.
•
Vent the filter (this should be done each time the pre-filter is cleaned and at least once a week).).
