Step 4:
First, carefully open the door for just one centimeter
and wait until the fire has adapted to the new draught
situation (2–3 seconds). You can now slowly open the door
and insert an appropriate
additional amount of wood
corresponding to the desired performance (see 2.1.1).
The air supply to the wood stove should now be reduced
according to point 2.
1.1
of this manual.
Also now, the soot that has possibly formed on the viewing
window during the heating-up phase will, to a large extent,
be burned clean.
Please note that the ignition of the additionally laid logs
always takes some time (3–4 minutes), since the wood first
has to reach a certain temperature.
Important:
The over-feed with wood does not lead to a con
-siderably increased heat transfer to the installation room;
rather the excess energy is discharged into the chimney and
air pollution is significantly higher.
Important:
Do not use flammable liquids such as alcohol or
petrol to light the fire.
Normal heating operation:
While the wood burns in the
combustion chamber, the door must not be opened. This is
to prevent smoke from escaping into the installation room.
Wait until the flames have burned down before inserting
additional firewood.
Important:
Never use treated or plastic-coated wood, chip-
board, sawdust, wood chips, coal, coke, paper, cardboard or
similar materials. The use of such materials leads to a very
high degree of environmental pollution and can cause
sustainable damage to the Bullerjan

Combustion air regulation
The combustion chamber of the
B

S
is supplied with
combustion air through a central, controllable air inlet at the
back of the wood stove. This air is then supplied to the fire
via the air inlet ducts positioned at the sides of the
combustion chamber and via the openings in the rear wall of
the wood stove. Furthermore, the combustion chamber is
supplied with combustion air via the window wash ventilation,
which efficiently delays the soiling of the viewing window.
In order to adjust the supply of combustion air to the
combustion chamber in accordance with the respective
operating situation, please handle the air supply regulator
provided for this purpose. This is located centrally under
the door of the stove and has two different markings, with
which you can make the exact setting according to the
following three phases of operation.
2.
Operating phase
(stove has reached the operating
temperature:
Reduce the air supply by pushing the slider back
into the stove
according to the desired performance
(see sketch).
Adjustment of the air slider
- the mark has to
be flush with the front
3.
Keeping the ember
(or the stove is out of operation)
Close the air supply by pushing the slider back into
the
stove until the mark (approximately in the middle of
the air
slide) aligns with the stove front.
When the controller is completely closed again with the front
of the stove, the combustion chamber is no longer supplied
with air. Please only use this setting if the stove is out of
operation or only after the fuel has burnt out completely and
only embers (no flames) are visible in the stove.
Caution: Do not close the air supply fully while the fire
is burning!
If you fully close the combustion air supply during the
operating
phase of the stove, it may cause malfunction, in
the
worst case
to a flue gas deflagration.

Ignition phase

Pull the slider fully towards you
- the air supply is now fully open
Device for fixing the combustion chamber door
The Bullerjan
B

has a device that allows the firebox door to
be locked in the open position. This function makes it easier to
clean the combustion chamber and the window. It may only be
used when the stove is not in operation.
In order to use this function, the door must first be fully
opened. To lock the door, push it slightly beyond the stop point
- the door is now fixed.
Removing the ashes
To remove the ashes, the
stove
must be cold. Carefully open
the firebox door and remo

ash with an ash shovel or a
standard ash extractor.
To unlock the door opening device, gently pull on the door -
it will then close again automatically.
