Removing and replacing the fan modules
For additional information, refer to the documentation that comes with the SFP+ optical transceivers
to which the cables have been connected.

Establish a connection to the blade server management
module.
Removing and replacing the fan modules
When you install or replace the fan modules, the switch module must either remain installed in the
chassis or placed horizontally on a flat surface such that the switch release levers are touching the
surface.
1. Locate the fan handle and the fan release latch to the left of the fan handle.

1. Fan 2 handle

2. Tightly hold both the fan handle and the release latch together.
The fan module is ejected from its locked position in the switch module.
3. Pull the fan handle away from the switch module and slide the fan module out of the switch module.
