Interpreting POST results
The Power-On Self-Test (POST) system check is performed each time the switch module is powered
on, rebooted, or reset. During the POST, the LEDs are activated in various indicator patterns.
NOTE
The default POST diagnostic level is 0 and thus no POST runs by default in the switch module.
However, the POST can be run by setting the value to a non-zero value before powering on the switch
module.
Once installed, the switch module is managed by the chassis management application. For
specific information about managing the switch module, refer to documentation that comes with
your blade server chassis.
To determine whether POST completed successfully, or whether any errors were detected:
• Verify that the LEDs on the switch module indicate a healthy switch.
If one or more LEDs do not display a healthy state, verify that the LEDs are not set to beacon. Use
the
switchShow
command or Web Tools to verify the LED state. For information about how to turn
