2. Take careful note of the wiring connections and
disconnect the wires that come from the external
harness (Fig. 63) to the terminal block.

NOTE
: The hardware securing the internal and
external generator wiring is brass (Not
Magnetic). Do not drop hardware into the Rotor/
Stator assembly.
3. Remove the generator grounding wire as shown
(Fig. 64).

4. Remove the engine spark plugs.
5. Using a 11/2” socket, with a 1/2” breaker bar,
rotate the engine crankshaft with the flywheel
retention nut (Fig. 65).

NOTE
: Rotate the crankshaft completely around
at least one turn to ensure there are no
obstructions within the rotor/stator assembly
before the removal process.
6. Turn the generator fan by rotating the crankshaft
so there is enough clearance to get a wrench on
the stator retention nuts.

7. Remove all four nuts (Fig. 66).
8. Using a suitable lifting device, raise the generator
by its lifting lug until there is adequate clearance
to insert a block of wood under the support straps
of the engine adaptor.
