(FC_8)
TRANSFER SWITCH FAILURE:
This is an optional feature of the Home Generator
System that is designed to display fault conditions that
relate to the transfer switch. It is used with the
EMPOWER™
and the
INTELLIGEN™
series generator
systems.
In order for the
“FC_8”
failure code to function, it requires
a transfer switch with a compatible control module. Not
all transfer switches will have a control module that will
be compatible.
When
FC_8
is displayed, it is indicating an open in the
transfer switch. An open can occur in:
• The contactor coils
• The limit switches
• The fuse(s)
The
“FC_8”
failure code will not be displayed while the
generator is running (
EXERCISE
Mode/
MANUAL
Mode/
UTILITY
Failure). It will not shut down the generator if a
transfer switch failure occurs while the generator is
supplying standby power. The ACCM II monitors the
transfer switch during normal utility power and during
standby power. If a transfer switch failure occurs,
“FC_8”
will be displayed at the control panel when power
transfers back to UTILITY.
If a transfer switch failure occurs while the generator is in
AUTO
mode (not running),
“FC_8”
will be displayed at the
control panel.
NOTE
: If so equipped, the CMA simultaneously
signals the remote LED to flash in a sequence of
eight blinks and displays
“Transfer Switch
Failure”
on the Statstation
™
display as well.
