6. Remove the fasteners and lift the bulkhead from
the base of the standby generator (Fig. 59).

REMOVE THE MUFFLER ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the bolts (
Fig. 60) that secure the
exhaust tube and gasket from the left side.

2. Remove the bolt that secures the muffler support
bracket .
3. Slide the muffler over the engine oil dipstick and
remove.
4. Remove the mounting hardware on the right side.
5. Set muffler aside.
REMOVE COOLING DUCTS
1. Remove the four screws that secure the ducts to
the generator housing (

REMOVE THE STATOR ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the seven screws that hold the blind-end
cover to the generator (Fig. 62).

CAUTION
: When removing the hardware that
supports the muffler assembly, be sure to support the
weight of the muffler by hand.
