6.7 Pin confi guration serial and parallel port
Data transmission from the computer to the printer can be done in two ways, either serial or parallel.
The serial goes through an RS 232 C interface, and the parallel is using a Centronics compatible
interface. Both connectors are of the 25 pin D-sub type.

The printer is only using pin no. 4 (RTS) as a control signal. When this is set to logic low (from
the printer), the computer must stop sending text immediately. Pin no. 2 (Tx) is used to transmit
XON/XOFF control signals to the computer. The text sent to the printer is received through pin no. 3
(Rx). All other outputs from the printer are set to logic high.
