8.5.2 Parameters for the standard solar ther-
mal system
Menu: Solar sys parameters > 1. Standard sys-
tem
Use this menu to set the parameters for the solar
thermal system if you are using it to provide
domestic hot water.
•
SP: ON temperature difference
: Use this
menu option to set the cut-in temperature dif-
ferential for the solar pump (SP).
If the difference between the collector tem-
perature (T1) and the solar cylinder tempera-
ture (T2) rises above the set figure, the solar
pump (SP) is switched on.
•
SP: OFF temperature difference
: Use this
menu option to set the cut-out temperature
differential for the solar pump (SP).
If the difference between the collector tem-
perature (T1) and the solar cylinder tempera-
ture (T2) drops below the set figure, the solar
pump (SP) is switched off.

Maximum collector temperature
: Use this
menu option to set the maximum temperature
at the collector temperature sensor (T
1
).
If the temperature detected at the collector
sensor (T
1
) rises above the set figure, opera-
tion of the solar pump (SP) is disabled until
the temperature drops back below the set fig-
ure.
•
SP: Collector grp 1 pump mode
: Use this
menu option to set the operating mode for the
solar pump (SP).

Auto
: Automatically controlled operation
according to the set parameters.

Manual On
: Switches the pump perma-
nently on (e.g. for bleeding the solar sys-
tem when commissioning).

Manual Off
: Switches the pump perma-
nently off (e.g. for servicing work on the
solar system without having to interrupt
heating operation).

At temperatures above 140 °C and
system pressures < 4 bar, the heat
transfer fluid in the collector evapo-
rates. The solar pump remains disa-
bled until the collector has cooled
to a temperature at which there is
no more vapour in the solar circuit.
