risks
Table 7: Residual risks
Location

Hazard
Action
1
Conveyor medium
pinch point
Pieces of clothing or long
hair can be pulled in
Crushing,
pulling out of hair
Do not reach into the system while it is running.
Wear protective clothing.
2
Cross connector; gear;
drive shaft:
Between component and
workpiece pallet
Trapping of limbs
Crushing,
Shearing
Do not reach into the system while it is running.
At workspaces, crush and shear points on
roller conveyors, suspension chain conveyors or
multiple belt conveyors between rollers, drive
shafts, cross struts or fi xed parts and moving
bulk goods must be secured. Risks of crushing
and shearing may be deemed avoided if the static
force for stopping the load is less than 150 N.
3
Conveyor medium:
between running
conveyor and stationary
workpiece pallet
(e.g. during separation)
Trapping of limbs
Crushing
Do not reach into the system while it is running.
4
Between workpiece
pallets
Trapping of limbs
Crushing,
Shearing
Do not reach into the system while it is running.
At workspaces, relative movements of
loads (e.g. at accumulating conveyors)
which lead to the loads approaching
a distance of less than 500 mm must be
avoided. (e.g. through pre-separation of the
workpiece pallets)
Risks of crushing may be deemed avoided if
the static force for stopping the load is less
than 150 N.
5
End of belt section
Crushing injury to
body parts caused by
falling objects
Crushing
A constructive solution is required,
e.g. by means of a stopper.
