Force brake pads

apart by rocking brake cal-
iper

back and forth against
brake disc

Carefully pull the brake cal-
ipers back and out until clear
of the brake discs.
Lift the front of the motor-
cycle until the front wheel is
clear of the ground, preferably
using a BMW Motorrad front-
wheel stand.
Installing front-wheel stand
ATTENTION
Incorrect gap between
sensor ring and wheel speed
sensor due to misaligned
threaded bush in front
suspension
Damage to wheel speed
sensor. ABS malfunction
Left clamp locates the
threaded bush; do not
loosen or remove this clamp.
Loosen clamping screws

Support the wheel and re-
move quick-release axle

Roll the front wheel forward
to remove.
