When riding on a slippery sur-
face, never snap the throttle
twistgrip fully closed without
pulling the clutch at the same
time. Engine braking torque
can cause the rear wheel to
skid, with a corresponding loss
of stability. The BMW Motorrad
DTC is unable to control a situ-
ation of this nature.
RIDING MODE
Selection
To adjust the motorcycle to the
road condition and the desired
driving experience, the follow-
ing riding modes can be selec-
ted:
RAIN
ROAD
DYNAMIC
RACE
RACE PRO 1
RACE PRO 2
RACE PRO 3
When activated, the RACE PRO
riding modes replace the RAIN,
ROAD and DYNAMIC riding
modes.
There are matched settings for
the
Engine
,
Engine Brake
,
Traction (DTC)
,
Wheelie
(DTC)
and
ABS
systems in
each riding mode.
In RACE PRO riding modes, the
settings for the systems

justed.
Torque and throttle response
In RAIN riding mode: Gentle
throttle response, reduced
torque in low gears.
In ROAD and DYNAMIC riding
modes: Optimum throttle re-
sponse, reduced torque in low
gears.
In RACE riding mode: Op-
timum throttle response, max-
imum torque.
In RACE PRO riding modes
additionally: Soft throttle re-
sponse, maximum torque.
Braking effect of the engine
In RAIN and ROAD riding
modes: Maximum braking
effect of the engine.
In DYNAMIC and RACE riding
modes: Moderate braking ef-
fect of the engine.
Additionally in the RACE PRO
riding modes: minimal brak-
ing effect of the engine.
