Take off rear wheel.
Installing rear wheel
Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the specified
torque can work loose or their
threads can suffer damage.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a specialized
workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Make sure that wheel centering
device and contact surfaces of
wheel hub are grease-free.
Seat the rear wheel on the
wheel centering spigot.
Hand-tighten 5 wheel studs

and then tighten to specified
torque.

en diagonally
44 lb/ft (60 Nm)
Remove rear wheel stand.
Front wheel stand
Use
A front-wheel stand for simple,
safe changing of the front wheel
is available from BMW Motor-
rad. This front wheel stand is
available at your authorized BMW
Motorrad retailer.
The BMW Motorrad front
wheel stand is not designed
to support the motorcycle with-
out the assistance of an auxiliary
stand. A motorcycle standing on
the front wheel stand and the
rear wheel alone can fall over.
Place the motorcycle on an aux-
iliary stand before lifting the front
wheel with the BMW Motorrad
front-wheel stand.
