6.5.2 “Main > Encoder > Audio” Screen
The “Main > Encoder > Audio” screen (
) is a “user-configurable” screen where the following parameters
associated with the Dolby® Digital encoded stereo audio are configured and displayed for each audio input:
Source:
allows the user to select the type of audio input source. Options are: “Analog” or “Digital”. (Factory Default:
“Analog”)
Analog audio consists of 2 channels (left & right) using Pin #8 (L) and Pin # 7 (R) on the 13 Pin DIN connector of
the supplied DIN-DIN adapter cables. Digital audio utilizes the orange RCA connector on the satellite receiver
side for the encoder input (Pin#10 ). The HDE-8C DIN accepts two formats of digital audio from the program
source, uncompressed 2 channel PCM or encoded Dolby Digital 2 / 5.1 channel(s). Dolby Digital audio inputs are
seamlessly passed through the unit since they are already encoded. PCM audio must be encoded within the unit.
