CHAPTER 4: General Operation and Special Features
The number stored via the
PHONE screen is stored in phone
cell 0 (zero). To autodial the front-
panel phone number in Hayes or
V.25bis mode, specify phone cell 0.

To store a phone number using the
modem’s front panel controls,
select PHONE from MODEM
SETUPS screen 5. The following
screen will be displayed:
• Use the right and left arrow
pushbuttons to go to the
position on the LCD where you
want to enter or change a
number or character. The
number or character at the
current cursor location flashes
on and off.
• Use pushbutton 1 to decrease a
number at the current cursor
location or pushbutton 3 to
increase a number.
• Use pushbutton 2 (CTRL) to
cycle through the dialing
control characters. The dialing
control characters are listed in
Table 4-1
, in the order in which
they appear on the LCD if you
cycle through them. Dialing
control characters can be saved
with a phone number to
perform the functions listed in
Table 4-1
when the number is
dialed.
The phone number is saved
when you return to the MAIN
MENU.

If a number has been previously
stored, the number will be
displayed on the top line of the
LCD (instead of dashes, as shown
above). Only one phone number—
24 characters maximum—can be
stored via the front panel.
Enter the number to be stored by
using the front-panel pushbuttons
as follows:
