• Connect the motor power cable according to the
connection diagram in the terminal box cover. Ob-
serve the operating instructions of the compressor.
• Seal the cable bushings well.
• Check the protective conductor cable and the two
cables for the motor temperature monitoring.
• Check all cable connections on the terminal plate for
tightness.
• Screw on the terminal box cover.
• Fasten module housing. To do this, insert screws
into the holder from below.
Middle terminal box
• 4VES-6Y .. 6FE-50(Y)
• 4JTE(U)-10(L)K .. 6CTE(U)-50(L)K
Installation situation: The module housing is screwed
directly onto the terminal box. It covers the terminal box
exactly and serves as its cover. The protective con-
ductor cable and the two cables for motor temperature
monitoring run directly through an opening in the bot-
tom of the module housing into the terminal box.
• Remove the cover of the module housing.
• Remove the module housing. Make sure that the two
orange cables and the protective conductor are not
damaged and that the connections do not come
loose. The orange cables are the motor temperature
sensor cables.
• Connect the power cable for the compressor motor
according to the label at the bottom of the module
housing and according to the KB-104 operating in-
structions.
• Both orange cables and protective conductors:
Check cables. Check the cable connections on the
terminal plate for tightness.
• Replace the module housing.
• Check the protective conductor screw connection on
the earthing terminal strip for tightness.
• Check the connections of the two cables for motor
temperature monitoring on terminal strip CN10 for
tightness.
• Put on the cover of the module housing. Tighten the
cover and module housing.
Large terminal box
• 8GE-50(Y) .. 8FE-70(Y)
Installation situation: The compressor module is moun-
ted in the terminal box. The protective conductor cable
and the two cables for motor temperature monitoring
are connected directly to the compressor module.
• Remove the terminal box cover.
• Connect the power cable for the compressor motor
according to the label on the inside of the terminal
box cover and according to the KB-104 operating in-
structions.
• Both orange cables and protective conductors:
Check cables. Check the cable connections on the
power feed-through plate and on the CM-RC-01 for
tightness.
• Close the terminal box and screw on the cover.
8.2
Required electrical connections on the CM-
RC-01
• Remove the module housing cover. For 8-cylinder
compressors: Remove terminal box cover.
8.2.1
Module power connection to terminal strip
CN1
115 .. 230 V +10%/-15%, 50/60 Hz, see chapter Tech-
nical data, page 6.
• Terminal 1: L
• Terminal 2: N
8.2.2
Input signal of the safety chain
• Connect safety chain to terminal strip CN2, terminal
3.
• Integrate the compressor module as the last link in
the safety chain.
CM-RC-01 before serial number
815292000504FPXXXXXXXXX (previous version)
In the previous compressor modules, terminal CN2:3 is
also used to detect the start signal from the superior
controller (B1).
8.2.3
Motor contactors
Connect all motor contactors to terminal strip CN2 ac-
cording to the wiring diagrams.
8.2.4
Command for compressor start-up
The start signal from the superior controller (B1) must
be passed on to the compressor module. It activates
the timer for the motor contactors K1, K2 and K3 and is
necessary for further monitoring functions.
