Introduction
The CM-RC-01 compressor module integrates the en-
tire electronic periphery of the compressor.
The CM-RC-01 monitors the main operating paramet-
ers of the reciprocating compressor: the engine and
discharge-gas temperature, oil supply and application
limits. It protects the compressor from operating under
critical conditions. The module switches the oil heating
on and off and, depending on the equipment of the
compressor, the start unloading, the compressor cool-
ing and the CRs according to the performance require-
ments of a higher-level system controller. It supplies
power to the associated components. The module also
switches the motor contactors on and off during start-
up. Additional time relays are not required. The high-
pressure switch can be connected directly to the com-
pressor module.
Numerous operating data of the compressor can be
tracked during operation using the BEST SOFTWARE,
for example the operating point in the operating limit
diagram. These data are recorded and allow a dia-
gnosis of the system operation. 4-colour LEDs indicate
the operating conditions of the compressor module.
The compressor module can be delivered pre-installed
or retrofitted in these reciprocating compressors in a
wide variety of equipment variants:
• 4FES-3(Y) .. 8FE-70(Y)
• Compressors for transcritical CO

This technical information describes the CM-RC-01: the
operating and monitoring functions, possible electrical
connections, the state of delivery, the commissioning of
the compressor module including the supplied peri-
pheral devices and the communication with the
BEST SOFTWARE. The retrofitting of components can
be found in specific maintenance instructions for the re-
spective compressor series. For detailed information on
Modbus programming and other technical data, see the
BEST SOFTWARE.

Safety
Compressor and compressor control module have
been built in accordance with state-of-the-art methods
and current regulations. Particular importance was
placed on user safety.
The notes given in the Operating Instructions KB-104
must be followed in addition to this Technical Informa-
tion.
Always keep the Operating Instructions KB-104 and
this Technical Information in the vicinity of the refrigera-
tion system during the whole lifetime of the com-
pressor!
