An error message appears when editing
protocols�
Cause: Biocare Medical Protocols cannot be edited, doing so will cause the message
below to appear.
Resolution: The user can copy and rename a selected Biocare Medical protocol to make
edits, refer to the Protocol Manager section in Chapter 5.
New reagents can’t be scanned into
Inventory Manager�
Cause: New reagents can only be scanned into inventory when the user initially logs into
the system. For example, if a protocol has been run or system cleaning executed, the
user won’t be able to scan reagents into inventory.
Resolution: To scan reagents into inventory, exit the system and log in again. There is
also an option of manually entering reagents into inventory.
The barcode camera is not detecting
slide labels or reagent labels
Cause: Slide labels or reagent labels are positioned incorrectly onto the slide.
Please see the diagram in the Slide Preparation section of chapter 5.
Resolution: Reposition slide label or reagent label.
Cause: This may be caused by splashes of reagents or residual oil from the
user’s fingerprints during preparation inhibiting the barcode camera.
Resolution: Use a paper towel to gently wipe the slide
label or reagent label to remove residual oil.
Reagent level scan is not working
properly�
Cause: The reagent vial is obstructed.
Resolution: Reposition the vial so that it sits flush in the
reagent rack. Make sure the cap is removed.
Cause: The liquid level sensor is obstructed with debris.
Resolution: Gently wipe any debris from the liquid level
sensor with a 70% Isopropyl alcohol lint free wipe.
