Delta Secondary (cont.)
CAUTION: Care must be taken when connecting to a Three phase 240/120V Secondary as shown above. All fan controller
models rely on internal references made between each incoming phase and ground. To prevent nuisance tripping such as
Overvoltage and Undervoltage faults, the following recommendations should be followed:
1. 200~250 Three phase fan controllers should be connected so that the High leg, or phase “B,” terminates on “L2” of the
fan controller’s input power disconnect.
2. 200~250 Single phase fan controllers should be connected so that only phase “A” and phase “C” are utilized. (Each
power lead should measure 120V to Ground.)
Branch Circuit Protection
CAUTION: The KBDA NEMA type 4X (IP65) fan controller does not include fuses for branch short circuit protection. These fan
controller models should be installed with a dedicated fusible disconnect and/or input circuit breaker (see pp. 28, 59). National
and local industrial safety standards and/or electrical codes may determine additional requirements for these installations.
CAUTION: KBDA controllers may NOT be “daisy chained” on a branch circuit without providing either one fused disconnect
or circuit breaker per controller.
NOTE: Allen-Bradley Nema type 1 (IP20) fan controllers are provided with internal fusing, which permits the connection of
multiple controllers on one branch circuit.
