Starting up
IMPORTANT: do not start the machine before
completing the "Preliminary checks and operations"
Failure to observe these instructions may cause
injury or damage to equipment.
7.11.1
Model with petrol engine
•
With the engine cold, check that the oil level is between
the maximum and minimum marks.
•
Sit in the driving position;
•
Move the choke lever to the "START" position;
•
Place the engine accelerator lever on minimum;
•
Turn the key to the "S" position until the engine starts up,
then release it;
•
Turn the choke back to "NORMAL";
•
Place the accelerator lever on maximum rpm.
•
Use the machine advance lever to adjust speed.
7.11.2
Electric model
•
Sit in the driving position;
•
Turn the key to the ON position;
•
Place the "forwards/backwards" switch in the forwards
position;
•
Turn the accelerator knob to move forwards.
Follow the instructions in paragraph to select the most suitable
working method.
7.12
Operations at the end of the cleaning
session
At the end of the cleaning session, the following operations must be
performed:
•
Switch the engine off by turning the key to the "O"
position;
•
Turn off the electricity supply in electric models by
turning the key to the "OFF" position;
•
Empty the debris collection bin;
•
Move the machine manually to the parking position. To
move the machine with internal combustion engine, open
the cowling and move the lever shown in the figure to the
top left position to disconnect the transmission.

Routine maintenance
8.1
Safety regulations for routine maintenance
Routine maintenance involves a series of simple operations to be
performed at regular intervals and according to the Manufacturer's
instructions. The Manufacturer has reduced the number and
complexity of routine maintenance operations to enable them to be
performed by personnel without technical expertise or complex
equipment.
It involves above all:
•
Checking the level of fluids in the engine and replacing
the engine filters and battery fluids;
•
Adjusting and replacing belts and chains;
•
Replacing parts subject to wear;
•
Cleaning external surfaces and internal parts;
•
Cleaning or replacing the suction filter.
IMPORTANT - Failure to observe the following
safety rules may cause injury, death or damage to
equipment.
IMPORTANT - All maintenance must be performed
with the machine off and the key taken out. In the
case of the internal combustion engine model, the
plug cable must be detached and the engine cold to
avoid burns and fire.
Do not allow personnel not involved in maintenance to
approach the machine
IMPORTANT - If oil or lubricants must be
replaced, they must be disposed of in respect
of
current
legislation.
Under
no
circumstances may they be disposed of in the
environment.
The dust contained in the debris collection bin
or captured by the air filter may be harmful to
persons affected by chronic respiratory
diseases. They should wear suitable P.P.D.
IMPORTANT - During maintenance, the
personal protection devices provided must be
worn.
8.2
Safety regulations for cleaning the machine
IMPORTANT - Failure to observe the following safety
rules may cause injury, death or damage to
equipment.
All cleaning operations must be performed with the machine
stationary and turned off.
When cleaning the machine or its components, the following
precautions must be observed:
Do not clean electrical equipment with water or other fluids. To
remove dust, use a clean brush or dry cloth only. Do not clean
plastic surfaces with alcohol, detergent or solvents. Dispose of
cleaning materials in respect of current legislation. Do not
dispose of the materials used or cleaning residues in the
environment. To clean, use water or compressed air and soft
cloths. IMPORTANT - During cleaning, personnel protection
devices must be worn
IMPORTANT - Do not use solvents to clean the
machine as there is a risk of fire due to electrostatic
discharges caused by rotation of the brushes.
Do not direct jets of water at the machine: the IP 33
degree of protection does not guarantee insulation of
the electrical components from water.
