No. 30 (3 grooves) = 4mm double needle: for heavy weight materials

No. 31 (5 grooves) = 3mm double needle: for heavy to medium weight
materials

No. 32 (7 grooves) = 2mm double needle: for light to medium weight

No. 33 (9 grooves) = 1 or 1.6mm double needle: for very light materials
(without additional pintuck cord)

Straight stitch no. 1

this technique reduces the size of the fabric (allow for enough fabric)

pintucks are narrow stitched folds which are normally sewn on the fabric
before cutting out the pieces for garments or other sewing projects

for embellishing or in combination with other heirloom embroidery

pintucks may be sewn with or without cord

cord pintucks for a raised effect and texture

chose a cord that fits well into the grooves of the selected pintuck foot

the cord must be colorfast and shrinkproof

Inserting the cord

remove the stitch plate of the sewing computer (see page
25
)
⦁
open the bobbin door
⦁
pull the cord through the hook opening from the bottom and through the
opening of the stitch plate
⦁
replace the stitch plate
⦁
close the bobbin cover
⦁
make sure that the cord slides within the thread slot of the bobbin cover
⦁
place the cord spool on the arm of the Free Hand System
⦁
check that the cord runs smoothly
Sewing pintucks
⦁
sew first pintuck, marking the stitching line if necessary

the cord will automatically feed into the pintuck
The cord lies on the wrong side of the material and is hold/sewn over by the
lower thread.

turn work if necessary
⦁
place first pintuck in one of the side grooves in the presser foot (depending
on the desired distance)
⦁
sew second pintuck
⦁
sew additional pintucks parallel to these two
If the thread doesn't slide smoothly past the bobbin cover, open the
cover while sewing and turn off the lower thread indicator in the
Setup Program.
