Maintenance
9. Maintenance
As your LCD monitor is a product made of glass and the supplied handheld monitor controller is
equipped with a highly sensitive sensor at the rear side, it is recommend that you should handle
them with special care while preforming any maintaining practices on them, since any vibration
or careless operation may seriously affect the lifetime of the devices.
Caring for your monitor
•
Slots and openings on the back or top of the cabinet are for ventilation. They must not be
blocked or covered. Your monitor should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat
source, or in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
•
Never push objects or spill liquid of any kind into this product.
•
To help maintain the best image quality on your monitor, use a screen saver and turn off your
monitor when you are not using your computer.
Cleaning your monitor
To get rid of the dust or fingerprints which may possibly distract your concentration while you are
working with the monitor, be sure to clean the monitor case and display regularly.
The following procedures shall be taken while the cleaning is exercised:
•
Turn your computer and monitor off.
•
Disconnect the monitor power cord from the back of the monitor. (Pull the plug, not the
cord.)
•
To clean the monitor case, use a soft cloth dampened with water to wipe the case clean, and do
not use solvents or abrasives.
•
To clean the dust or fingerprints on the screen, gently wipe the screen with a dry, soft, and
lint-free cloth to avoid any unwanted scratches. If using quality screen cleaner to remove the
dirt on the screen surface is necessary, apply a small amount of the cleaner onto the cloth, and
then carefully wipe the screen surface with it. Never spray cleaner directly onto the screen.
Storing your monitor
If you need to store your monitor for an extended period of time, please unplug your monitor
from the electric outlet and all connected cables before any action is taken. It is recommended to
pack the monitor in its original equipment.
Storing the monitor controller
When you have to make OSD menu adjustments, you can use either the monitor controller or
Visual Optimizer, the software, to your assistance. However, to keep the monitor area clean and
neat, you may wish to store the monitor controller and the dock aside and use Visual Optimizer
installed on your system to assist you instead, until you intend to execute color compensation with
the calibration sensor.
Equipped with a highly accurate color system, the sensor on the back of the monitor controller
needs your little care.
