Getting the most from your FP91R
Installing the calibration software -- Visual Optimizer (Optional, for PC
systems only)
Using the USB protocol, your FP91R is attached with a calibration software -- Visual Optimizer to
help you more easily make color controls and obtain the ultimately precise color matching
performance. By connecting the supplied USB cable between the monitor and your computer,
when you utilize Visual Optimizer, FP91R can make the bi-directional communication with the
graphic adapter on your system.

Visual Optimizer
can be installed on PC operating systems only.
• Supporting the Display Data Channel/Command Interface (DDC/CI)* protocol, your monitor allows you to
send the commands from
Visual Optimizer
to your monitor.
The color controls in
Visual Optimizer
are the same as those included on the monitor controller. As you
decide to use
Visual Optimizer
, still keep the handheld monitor controller around for executing
calibration.To return to set the controls with the monitor controller, simply close the window of
Visual
Optimizer
to exit.
Installing Visual Optimizer involves the hardware set-up and software installation.
Follow the procedures below to complete the installation.
Hardware set-up
1. Execute PreInstaller.EXE from the folder named FP91RDriverInstall on the provided CD.
2. Click Browse to specify the location of the driver in the dialog box that displays. Then click
Install. The installation will be done soon. Click OK.
3. Connect the USB cable to the USB hub socket on the monitor. The USB cable that connects to
one of the computer's USB ports will make direct communication between the adapter on
your computer and the monitor.
4. The first time you connect the USB cable from the monitor to your computer, Windows will
automatically detect the USB cable and display the Found New Hardware Wizard window.
The wizard will ask if it should search for new hardware. Select No, then click Next to enter
the next window.
You will see the newly found device is identified as BenQ USB Composite Device.
Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (Recommended) and click Next.
5. In the Hardware Installation window, click Continue Anyway.
