Connecting the telephone

mute function

You can connect your Traffic Assist to
your audio system using an optionally-
available cable for the telephone mute
function.
If the cable is correctly connected, your
Traffic Assist will mute the car radio dur-
ing navigation announcements.

>

Insert the jack on the cable into the
socket on the docking station for this
purpose.

>

Connect the other end of the cable to
the telephone mute socket on your ra-
dio.
Please observe the manufacturer’s con-
nection specifications.

Connecting the audio signal

You can connect your Traffic Assist to
your audio system using an optionally-
available cable for output of the audio sig-
nal.
If the cable is correctly connected, you can
then output the audio signal via the vehi-
cle audio system.

>

Insert the jack on the cable into the
socket on the docking station for this
purpose.

>

Connect the other end of the cable to
the audio inputs on your audio system.
Please observe the manufacturer’s con-
nection specifications.

Connecting USB storage me-

dia

You can connect a USB memory stick or
an external hard drive to your Traffic As-
sist.
Images, music or videos can then be ac-
cessed from these storage media.

The USB port for storage media is located
on the left side of the unit.

Notes:

• Only external hard drives with a maxi-

mum power consumption of 500mA
may be operated. The hard drive can
only be operated when the Traffic As-
sist is powered via the mains adapter or
via the car power adapter.

• Please note that when using USB

memory sticks to play MP3 files or dis-
play images or videos, the battery ca-
pacity may be considerably reduced
(without external power supply).
