Keypad

Replacing Keypad
The MC 9190
ex
-NI has interchangeable modular keypads.
Caution!
−
The keypad may only be changed outside the hazardous area!
−
It must be ensured that only original keypads are used in safety-oriented operation.
−
The use of imitation keypads from other manufacturers will render the type of
ignition protection ineffective and there will then be a risk of fire or explosion.
Caution!

Follow proper ESD precautions to avoid damaging the SD card. Proper ESD
precautions include, but are not limited to, working on an ESD mat and ensuring
that the operator is property grounded.
Attention!

Power off the MC 9190
ex
-NI before start of change parts.
−
Put the MC 9190
ex
-NI into suspend mode before you remove the battery. Failure to
properly remove the battery may cause the MC 9190
ex
-NI to cold boot and
potential loss of data.
If the MC 9190
ex
-NI is in suspend mode, press the Power button to wake the device. Wait
for the MC 9190
ex
-NI to fully awake from suspend mode.

Turn off the MC 9190

Remove the battery. (see figure 4.4.3 Replacing a battery)

Take out the screws at the top edge of the keypad.

Pull the keypad downwards in the direction of the arrow and then forwards to take
it out of the MC 9190
