4.3 Redundant operation
If operating two or more H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
units, special hard- and software configurations can be made to avoid a
loss of source control in case that one display fails. Depending on the used output cards and whether digital or
analog data transfer is used different configurations must be applied.
Digital Output with One Channel Output Card
If the H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
units are connected to projection modules with digital input and if one channel output cards
are used, they must be equipped with a second output card for redundant operation each. One output card is
connected as usually to the projection module, the second output card is connected to the input connector of the
overlay input card of the other H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
and vice versa, see the figure below:

Analog Output with One Channel Output Card

units are connected to projection modules with analog input and if one channel output cards
are used, one output card per H

is sufficient. The analog connector [1] of the output card remains
connected to the projection module, the digital connector [2] of the output card is connected to the overlay input
card of the other H

units are equipped with DVI-DVI output cards, one output card per H

Thus using special layouts which complement one another, when being displayed on top of each other, all

units can be displayed on one projection module, but of
