5.1 Hot swap procedure cedure

can be connected to two independent power nets. If one of the three power modules or a
power net is failing you can hear a buzzer alarm that can be reset by pushing the red buzzer reset button [4] at
the front of H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
. The failing power module can be replaced with a spare module without power down
the H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
. Besides the alarm buzzer there is a visual indication of a power failure via the green LED [7]
at the front. This LED is blin D is blinking in case of a power error. Then the defective power module can be located by
examining the individual LED’s [37] of the power modules at the back of H
YDRA
C
OMPACT
. If the green LED on a
power module is off, the module is defective and must be replaced.
5.1.1 Exchange of the power module
Only authorized personnel should carry out this maintenace work! carry out this maintenace work!
•
Locate the defective power module by examining the green LED’s [37] on the individual power modules. If
an LED is not lightened the respective power module is defective.
•
Turn off the individual power switch [34] of the defective power module!
•
Loosen the securing screw [31] at the lower side of the bracket [30] that fixes the power modules with a
size 2 Phi ze 2 Phillips screwdriver and remove the bracket. Keep the bracket and the screw.
Use gloves to remove the power module. The cover of the power module is been used as
heat sink for cooling, usually the temperature is around 50 – 60° Celsius under full
Celsius under full
condition!
•
Press the metallic handle bar [38] towards the rubber handle bar [36] unless the power module is no
longer locked in the housing and pull it outwards.
Put the power module aside for cooling down. Keep it away from other people unless it has
cooled down!
•
Take a good power module and check that its power switch [34] is switched off.
•
Insert the power module into the system! Push it inside the housing unless the metallic handle bar [38]
snaps in.
•
Switch on the power module with the power switch [34] on the power module!
•
Check if the green LED [37] turns on!
•
Check the green LED power failure [7], which indicates the total power system status. The LED may not , which indicates the total power system status. The LED may not
blink!
•
Reattach the bracket [30] and fix the securing screw [31].
