AIR PRESSURE SWITCH
The air pressure switch stops the equipment operation if air pressure
is not at the expected value.
The pressure switch must therefore be adjusted so that it is triggered
to close the NO (normally open) contact when the air pressure in the
burner reaches the set value.
If the air pressure switch does not detect a pressure greater than that
calibrated, the equipment runs through its cycle but does not switch on
the ignition transformer and does not open the gas valves and so the
burner “locks-out”.
To ensure the air pressure switch correct operation, with burner at the
minimum output, increase the adjustment value until reaching the trig -
gering value which must be followed by the immediate burner lock-out.
Air pressure sampling point is downstream the air damper.
The adjustment of this pressure switch is carried out as follows:
• With the burner operating at minimum power, remove the cover
(1).
• Slowly turn the knob (2) clockwise until the burner shuts down.
• Then check the indication of the upward-pointing arrow on the
graduated scale.
• Turn the knob clockwise again until the value measured on the
graduated scale coincides with the arrow pointing downwards,
thus recovering the pressure switch hysteresis represented by the
white field on a blue background between the two arrows.
• Now check that the burner is starting correctly.
• If the burner shuts down again, turn the knob slightly anti-clockwi -
se.
