Parameterization and functions (continued)
NOTICE
With the standard variant, all settings including all taught-
in objects and the configuration of the analog outputs
(current or voltage output) are deleted. After reset the ana-
log outputs operate as voltage outputs and the digital out-
puts are set to NPN. It must be ensured firstly that this
does not present any danger to the inputs of the PLC in
use, analog-to-digital converter card etc.
The automatic settings of the last signal normalization are
also lost. It is therefore necessary to perform signal norma-
lization again.
4.5.5 Reset the maintenance interval
Reset the time since last maintenance to 0 h (see chapter
4.7.3).
4.5.6 Identify the device (only with IO-Link)
LED1 (green) flashes for one minute at a frequency of 2 Hz
to identify the device.
4.6
Locking settings (only with IO-Link)
4.6.1 Disable write access to parameter settings
Under this function write access to all parameter values can
be disabled. The device does not accept any input of para-
meter values until unlocked.
4.6.2
Locking data storage
This function disables the IO-Link data storage function.
Transmission for data storage of parameters in higher-level
devices is disabled.
4.6.3 Locking local parameterization
This command locks the parameterization via the control
panel. The function is equivalent to the one that can be
accessed from the control panel in the "Lock" item. The unit
can also be unlocked via the "Unlock" command on the
control panel.
4.6.4 Locking local user interface
With this function the control panel can be locked comple-
tely. The buttons at the sensor are inoperable. Therefore,
the machine can no longer be unlocked from the control
panel.
4.7 Diagnosis
The BLA offers the possibility to retrieve extensive status
information. These functions are mainly intended for diagno-
stic purposes.
4.7.1
Live image (Monitor)
The live image function allows the actual CCD signal to be
displayed.

4.7.2 Signal information
This section displays information about the properties of the
light band. This includes the minimum and maximum values
of ambient light intensity, the minimum and maximum values
of laser light intensity, as well as the sampling period.
The values are determined automatically during signal nor-
malizing and remain stored until the signal is normalized
again or until the sensor is reset to factory settings.
Typical values for the sampling period are in the
range between 1 and 5 ms. A higher value
indicates poor operating conditions, e.g. poor
alignment of emitter and receiver or contamina-
tion of the optical windows.
4.7.3 Devices status
The operating hours since power-on, the total operating
hours and the operating hours since the last reset of the
maintenance interval are displayed here. In addition, the
total number of starts and those since the last reset of the
maintenance interval are displayed.
4.7.4 Devices information
This section displays the product name, the serial number,
the hardware and firmware revision.
