#15 ROOFING FELT

DORMER FELT / FLASHING

Read roofing instructions beginning at Page 91 for roofing felt and shingle installation.
Follow insructions below for dormer roofing felt and flashing installation.
Install roofing felt around dormer prior to flashing. Overlap felt layers by 3". Wrap corners with felt before
installing larger pieces. Secure felt with 1" roofing nails as shown.
Nail only into dormer OSB panels with
framing behind panel. Trim felt around OSB window openings.
Flash the front of dormer using (3) 4" x 32" flash cards. Overlap ends of flashing 2". Extend flashing 3" past
corner of dormer. Trim flashing corner ends as shown
(Fig. A)
. Bend tab around corner and secure flashing with
1" nails. At one end flashing will have excess metal trimmed off length.
Repeat
Steps 1-2
for opposite side.
