8.1 Selecting a Math Function

To select a math function:

1. Press the

button to enter the

8.2 Add or Subtract

Math operators perform arithmetic operations, add or subtract, on any two analog input channels. When
you select addition or subtraction, the Source A and Source B values are added or subtracted point by
point, and the result is displayed.

You can use subtract to make a differential measurement or to compare two waveforms.

If the waveforms’ DC offsets are larger than the dynamic range of the oscilloscope’s input channels you
will need to use a differential probe instead.
