4.2.2 DHCP
The
DHCP
page allows you to activate/deactivate the DHCP server function of the CMO 2-01. If the DHCP
server is activated, the DHCP leases it has provided are displayed.
The DHCP server of the CMO provides the IP addresses of the connected devices.
This IP addresses start at the address you set in
Starting Local Address
field.
To set the maximum number of devices to which the CMO 2-01 will issue IP addresses, enter it in the
Number of CPEs (Customer Premises Equipment).
The DHCP server leases an IP address with an expiration time. The CMO 2-01 provides leases for 3600 seconds
(default), and has an automatic renewal mechanism that will keep extending a lease as long as the associated
device remains active.
The table DHCP Clients on the bottom of this page shows the information of DHCP clients including the IP and
MAC addresses of each PC. Since MAC addresses are unique and permanently fixed into hardware, you can
identify any device listed by its MAC address.
To cancel an IP address lease,
Select
it in the DHCP Clients table and click the
Force Available
button
(Note: It may be necessary to perform a DHCP Renew on this device)
