4.2 Basic
The Basic page contains the basic features of CMO 2-01 including Setup, DHCP and Backup.
4.2.1 Setup
The WAN (Wide Area Network) is the network that
establishes the CMO to the CMTS over the coaxial
line using the DOCSIS protocol.
The LAN (Local Area Network) is the network that
the CMO establishes with the attached/connected
Ethernet or WiFi devices using TCP/IP.
In the LAN section, the IP address of the CMO in the Local Area Network can be adjusted. The MAC address
that the CMO has in the LAN is also displayed.
In the WAN section, if the CMO is connected to a CMTS, the IP address of the CMO in the Wide Area
Network is displayed. For WAN Connection Type DHCP, this is assigned by the DHCP server in the CMTS.
The MAC address that the CMO has in the WAN is also displayed.
Duration shows the duration of the connection to the CMTS.
The Expires field shows the time at which the connection expires.
With Release WAN Lease the WAN IP is released as "available" again.
With Renew WAN Lease the lease is renewed, i.e. the DHCP server is requested to assign a new IP address.
