Cleaning the Paper Path
During the printing process, paper powder, toner, and dust particles can accumulate
inside the product. Over time, this buildup can cause print quality issues such as
toner specks, smears, or dust particles on the edge of paper. If you are
experiencing these problems, clean the paper path. To keep optimal printing quality,
the paper path needs to be cleaned after approximately every 20,000 prints.
However, the guideline might vary based on the type of paper you are printing (for
example, visible paper powder on paper or paper has not been cut evenly).
To clean the paper path, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the product, disconnect the power cord, and then wait for the product
to cool.
2.
Open the side door.
3.
Pull down the lock latches on the top of the fuser to open the Fuser Cover.
