Kermit CSV Upload
1. Copy the CSV file to the same directory as Kermit.
2. Connect the PC serial link to serial port 1 and log on from Kermit as normal.
3. Set the switch and PC to the fastest matching speed supported
(see page 35)
.
4. From the
Administration
menu, select
System
,
Installation
,
Data Installation
.
5. Select
Upload file
and wait for the
# N3
prompt.
6. Press
Ctrl
and
]
simultaneously, then press
C
.
7. At the Kermit prompt, type
SEND
and press
↵
.
a. The system requests
"Local Source File"
. Enter the name of the CSV file to
be uploaded.
b. The system request
"Remote Destination File"
. Enter
DY
.
8. The screen shows the progress of the database file transfer. The PC beeps on
transfer completion.
9. Enter
FIN
and wait a few seconds until the
MS-Kermit>
prompt appears.
– If the prompt does not appear, press
↵
several times until "Unable to tell
host that session has finished" appears.
10. Press
C
and then
↵
to reconnect to the system.
11. Press
Esc
to restart normal system programming.
Installing or Deleting an Uploaded CSV File
Once a CSV file has been uploaded to a system by FTP or Kermit, it can be viewed
and then installed or deleted.
1. Log into the INDeX administration menus.
2. Select
System
,
Installation
and then
Data Installation
.
3. If the CSV file has successfully been uploaded then the line
Upload file
should
now show
File loaded
.
4. Use
Data preview
to view the uploaded file. Press
↵
to extend the preview.
5. To add the uploaded directory settings to the INDeX select
Install/Update
.
– To remove an uploaded file without installing it, use the
Release upload
buffer
command in the
Maintenance
menu.
