INDeX 30
38DHB0002UKDF- Issue 4 (07/2001)
Initial Programming
The following steps only need to be performed once, after logging on for the first
time (see page 20). The INDeX 30 defaults to a basic database of devices.
However, if changes are required, e.g. country file database, configure for LD or MF,
numbering plan, etc, then the following procedures must be followed.
1. The INDeX 30 country default settings are for English/UK. For other countries
you
must
perform the appropriate country file database upload, see page 38.
2. From the
Administration
menu, select
System
and then
Switch Licences.
Check and record the Software Level Licence number.
3. If you do not wish to use the default numbering plan, log on and from the
Administration
menu select
System
and then
Installation
. Set the
Next
terminal number
(default 200),
Next trunk number
(default 700) and
Next
group number
(default 500) as required.
4. Select
Clear device database
to ensure that the database is clear of devices
details.
5. From the
Administration
menu, select
System
and then
Clock
. Set the system
date and time.
6. From the
Administration
menu, select
Maintenance
and then perform a
System Restart
.
The two-wire Terminal Circuits, the Basic Rate Interfaces and the IP Network
settings can now, if required, be configured.
Configuring the Two-Wire Terminal Circuits
By default, two-wire terminal circuits use MF signalling with time break recall. The
process below details how to switch a two-wire circuit between LD and MF
signalling.
Note :
In some countries the
INDeX 30
software will not support LD dialling.
To configure a two-wire terminal for LD or MF :
1. From the
Administration
menu, select
Station
and enter the directory number
or address.
2. Select
Analogue Control Data
.
3. Select
Recall Detect Minimum
. The value is set in 10ms units.
– For a terminal using MF dialling, set this to
5
(default).
– For a terminal using LD dialling, set this to
9
.
4. Repeat the process for other two-wire terminal circuits.
