Preliminary Pickup Query and Monitoring
Preliminary Pickup Query and
Monitoring
The PBX supports the SIP function BLF (in accordance with RFC 4235).
BLF allows VoIP end devices to monitor other subscribers and receive infor-
mation about their calls.
Support of the SIP function BLF provides the following functions:
• Preliminary pick-up query
: A preliminary pick-up query allows a
subscriber, even before a pick-up, to see which caller he would be
picking up. Based upon the phone number of the caller, the subscriber
can then decide whether to pick up the call or not. As precondition, the
called subscriber or group must have enabled "preliminary pick-up
query and monitoring“.
• Monitoring or BLF (Busy Lamp Field)
: BLF allows VoIP end devices
to monitor other internal subscribers, groups, waiting positions of call
parking, voice mail/ fax boxes or door terminals and receive information
about their calls. As precondition for the display of phone numbers, the
monitored subscriber or group must have enabled "preliminary pick-up
query and monitoring". Whether voice mail and fax boxes can be
monitored in this way depends on the subscribers and groups who own
the boxes or have redirected their calls to them.
You can use this functions with the following VoIP end devices:
• Auerswald/FONtevo VoIP system phones and standard VoIP
phones
: Other subscribers are monitored with the help of the LEDs of
those function keys which are assigned to speed dialling (optional, see
manual for the phone).
• Standard VoIP end devices of other vendors
: As precondition to
support the SIP function BLF, the SIP convenience package must have
been unlocked (optional, see chapter Functions, Uses, Concepts >
Activation).
