This is the simplest and most elementary type of control that can be implemented. The metering
device is switched on as soon as the SET POINT measurement is exceeded, and switched off
again as soon as the measurement returns to less than a given value to be set, that is defined as
HYSTERESIS.
The HYSTERESIS value makes it possible to avoid constant switching on and off of the metering
device. Limited hysteresis improves control, but to the detriment of the metering device, which
would be subject to greater wear (graphs on page 19).
